A shepherd’s hut for two inside a dry stone sheepfold on our farm above Litton.
The hot tub sits on the private patio, hot when you arrive and looking down the valley. Inside, a log burner, underfloor heating, a proper double bed and an en suite shower.
Footpaths run from the gate onto the hill. The Red Lion is a five minute walk, worth booking ahead. The Monsal Trail is fifteen minutes by car, Tideswell five, Bakewell a short drive.
Adults only, and yours alone for the whole stay.
The hut is compact by design. One room that works as sitting room, kitchen and bedroom, with the shower room through a door at the end.
The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, kettle and everything you need to cook properly rather than just make toast. There is a small dining table, and a barbecue outside for warmer evenings.
The bed is a double with proper linen, extra blankets and dressing gowns. The log burner is laid ready and there is wood in the store.
The hot tub is on the patio, private and screened, hot when you arrive and in use all year. Winter is when most guests say they enjoy it most.
Wifi throughout, and a Bluetooth speaker if you want your own music.
The whole hut, the patio, the hot tub and the fenced garden are yours alone. Nobody else uses any of it.
Park on the hardstanding by the gate.
We are on the farm if you need us, and reachable by message the rest of the time. Most guests find they need neither, which is rather the point.
This is a working farm. There are cattle in the next field and you will hear them. Guests tell us this is one of the better parts of staying here.
The hut is small. Two people, no children, no pets.
The nearest shop is in Tideswell, about five minutes by car. We would bring anything you cannot easily buy on a Sunday evening.
Self check-in from 3pm using the key safe. Checkout by 10am.
